DC 2020 - Terms and Conditions

"Design Championship” is brought to you by ARK Infosolutions Private Limited (“ARK”). Please read these terms and conditions ("T&Cs") before entering the Contest. You agree that, by participating in this Contest, you will be bound by these T&Cs and you acknowledge that you satisfy all Contest eligibility requirements as provided herein below. For the purposes of these T&Cs, wherever the context so requires "You" or "Your" shall mean any natural person who is a participant in the Contest.

By registering at https://Design, registrants, specifically agree to being contacted by email, text and phone for matters regarding their entry, deadlines, payments and competition news.

The Registrant’s completed registration application and fee payment constitutes confirmation that they have read, understood and agree to the following General Terms and Conditions.

Design Championship is a National Level design competitions, for school going student. The organizer of Design Championship Competition and Awards, is MindBox - A division of ARK.

All copyrighted images, trademarks and registered trademarks appearing on the Design Championship website are the property of ARK or their respective rights-holders and owners, and used on this website for reference purposes only.

You need to fulfil the following eligibility criteria to participate / register in the competition
a) You should be an individual resident of the Republic of India
b) You should be a School Student and of the age group of 9 to 16. Students may only participate in appropriate age level and category, who have obtained their parents and / or legal guardian permission.
c) Is of sound health and mind
d) Enters the competition in accordance with the rules as defined in this document.
e) Each entrant may enter with projects as they wish, upon completion of registration and payment of appropriate fee(s) for the category. Entries may be submitted by individuals, or teams.
f) The Opening date for receipt of entries by ARK from participants is 26th July 2020 and the closing date for receipt of entries by ARK is 22th Sep. 2020. Only one entry is allowed in each category.

In the case of duplicate or multiple entries from the same participant in a category, then the first entry to arrive at the designated submission address (as determined by the "received by" date) will be accepted as the entry into the Contest. Each participant is permitted to participate in max 2 categories as defined herein.

The Contest begins on 26th July 2020 ,12:00pm Indian Standard Time (IST) Zone in India and ends on 31st Oct 2020, 10:00pm Indian Standard Time (IST) Zone ("Contest Period"). All dates are subject to change. Entries that are being sent through mail/courier should reach the mailing address within 3 working days post the deadline in order to have been submitted within the Contest Period.

The Design Championship Competition is open to all students wishing to share and promote their Game, Apps, Movies, Industrial Design and Graphics work.

There are 5 categories of contestants: –
1. Game Design
2. Industrial Design
3. Movie Making
4. App Design
5. Graphics Design

There are 3 Levels of Age for all Categories and two qualifying rounds before National Championship.

The entry fees is a one-time till the National Championship. Entrant’s payment, fully completed registration form, the design and supporting documents must be received by the competition’s published closing date.

Registration and Operation :-
Phase 1- Registrations for Age Level, Individual or Team and Category with payment of registration Fees.
Phase 2 – Online submission of completed projects for Jury review. And if the projects gets selected as regional Winner, you may qualify for National Winner.

Participant will visit the contest website located at during the contest period and follow the instructions that appear on the website. You will be requested to fill in the information on the entry form.

- Any entry submitted via the digital upload tool on the Contest Site, please follow the instructions on the Contest Site. ARK is not responsible for illegible or incorrectly submitted entries.
- Entries received without a completed Entry Form or without a parent's or legal guardian's signature will be disqualified.
- LIMIT ONE (1) ENTRY PER ENTRANT PER CATEGORY. Subsequent entries will be disqualified.

ARK REQUIRMENTS The Entries and supporting statements must meet the following criteria : -
a) They must not be derogatory, offensive, threatening, defamatory, disparaging, libellous or contain any content that is inappropriate, indecent, sexual, profane, tortuous, slanderous, discriminatory in any way, or that promotes hatred or harm against any group or person, or otherwise does not comply with the theme and spirit of the Contest.
b) They must not contain content, material or any element that is unlawful, or otherwise in violation of or contrary to all applicable federal, state, or local laws and regulation including the laws or regulations.
c) They must not contain any content, material or element that displays any third party advertising, slogan, logo, trademark, representation of characters indicating a sponsorship or endorsement by a third party, commercial entity or that is not within the spirit of the Contest, as determined by Sponsor, in its sole discretion.
d) They must be original, unpublished works that does not contain, incorporate or otherwise use any content, material or element that is owned by a third party or entity.
e) They cannot contain any content, element, or material that violates a third party's publicity, privacy or intellectual property rights.
f) The Entrant does not include any disparaging remarks relating to the Sponsor or a third party.
g) During the Contest Period, ARK and/or the Jury (defined below) will be evaluating the respective entry and supporting statements to ensure that they meet the eligible Requirements. ARK reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any Entrant who submits an entry and supporting statement that does not meet the Requirements. Incomplete entries or entries not complying with these Rules are subject to disqualification.

A multi-disciplinary jury of experts is selected by the Design Championship organisers. This independent jury chooses the Design Championship winners. The jury is not required to justify or comment upon its decisions. Not every entry category will necessarily have a winner. Conversely, the Jury may, at their option, choose multiple winners in a category. The judge’s or jury’s decisions is private and completely confidential. The decision of the jury in the contest / competition will be final and non-contestable. The Company will not entertain any queries in this regard.


The Prize consideration to the Winning Team* or individual*, would be distributed equally among the team member / participants, in the manner as may be determined by ARK

Online Exhibition Gallery All nominees and award-winning designs will be presented in the website online exhibition gallery for at least one year.

Only entries that fit Design Championship’s design guidelines, are in generally acceptable and DC organiser reserves all rights to determine whether works will be accepted or not.

A press release winners announcement will be published after the juries make their selection. In addition, various media partners publicize the events and selected winners. Upon request, Design Championship will produce press release templates, which may be used for the Entrant’s publicity purposes.

Design Championship Participants will receive a downloadable awards certificate PDF. Printed certificates will be given to Regional and National Winners and Runners Up only. Prize Money will be given to Winners and Runner Ups and Trophies will be given to School, with the consent of registered individual/team.

*In the event, the participant is minor, the declaration should be filed by the Parents / Guardian in the prescribed format and manner as defined on the website. The form shall be provided to the National Winners & Runner-Ups once they are announced.

By entering your work in this competition, you, your team member, and school, grant consent and license to Design Championship Competition for the use of your name, design and representations of your design in any media, anywhere in the world, without compensation or credit, for Design Championship promotional and editorial reasons.

By entering this competition, you acknowledge that you own, and, are solely responsible or otherwise control all of the rights to the content or entries that you submit; that use of the content or entries you supply does not violate these Terms of Use and will not cause injury to any person or entity; and that you will indemnify the Design Championship or its affiliates for all claims resulting from the materials you submit. The Design Championship are not liable for any copyright or trademark infringement on the part of the entrant. Design Championship entrants are advised and required to obtain third party consents where required by law or by best ethical practices.

Entrants own the Intellectual Property rights to the work they submit to the Design Championship competitions. Design Championship does not own original I.P. rights or works submitted by the participants in the contest, but as a condition of entry, participants grants ARK including its affiliate a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive right/ license to use, reproduce, adapt, publish, distribute, publicly perform, create derivative work from and display the work for any purpose, without any attribution or compensation to entrant / Winner/ participant. Entries once registered will not be returned. Design Championship Award sponsors or partners (Businesses and Organizations) do not own design entries, original research, or design materials that they sponsor unless a written license or other transfer of rights in those works is executed by the author(s) and acknowledged in writing by all parties, including Design Championship .

By entering the Design Championship Competition, participants release the Design Championship Advisory Council and Community Board members, sponsors, Jury participants and their respective affiliates, agents, directors, officers, employees, volunteers, families and shareholders from any and all liability of any kind relating to these competitions.

If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Contest, Google reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest. Google further reserves the right to disqualify any Entrant who tampers with the submission process or any other part of the Contest or Contest Site. Any attempt by an Entrant to deliberately damage any web site, including the Contest Site, or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, Google reserves the right to seek damages from any such Entrant to the fullest extent of the applicable law.

The liability of DESIGN CHAMPIONSHIP to the Entrant, whether said liability stems from any breach of contract or duty, for any damages, costs, loss of goodwill or financial income suffered by the Entrant, will be limited to the entrant’s paid fees. These rules will be governed by the laws of India. Any dispute relating to the competitions or related events and media or these rules will be resolved by arbitration in New Delhi. Should any of the above provisions be rendered ineffective in whole or in part, all other provisions shall remain effective. Terms that differ from these Terms and Conditions shall not apply unless the Design Championship Administrator has given specific written consent. All published data subject to change.
